Behaviour Change Consulting (BCC) is solely operated by Dr Mark Clayton and based on 37 years of experience working with children and adults with disability and their families, with a strong personal and professional commitment to the principles of social role valorisation (SVR) and person centred practices.
I am a qualified Special Educator at doctoral level, have worked as a Special Educator, itinerant teacher for students with a visual impairment, Principal of four Special Schools in NSW, university academic, researcher and consultant.
I have undertaken work with a high level of complexity through the development of strategic planning including the successful transition for clients, families and staff to the NDIS. I have previously worked in a policy advisory role for two NSW Ministers and senior departmental bureaucrats managed and prepared parliamentary correspondence, ministerial briefings, coordinated high level sector groups and committees and coordinated postgraduate studies in Special Education at Macquarie University Special Education Centre.
I work from an evidenced based best-practice framework of Positive Behaviour Support, person centred active-support, and client safeguarding practices – responding to abuse, assault and neglect and reviewing restrictive practices.
